About the Illustrator

Lupe Costa-Costa was born in Lima, Peru. She began to draw at the age of twelve and refined her skills at San Jose de Cluny. Later, as she dedicated herself to raising her children, she developed the culinary art that led her to open her own restaurant, The Bricks, in Eagle Rock, California. She says of her art: "Through drawing and painting, I reflect on the things that are pleasing in life." She continues to express herself through various art forms, including drawing, watercolor and her distinctive Peruvian cuisine.
